Seed-to-Sale
We start from seed or from cuttings nearly all the plants we sell. This enables us to hand-pick varieties and to nurture individual plants as their needs arise. You won’t find typical root-bound stressed nursery stock here at Rooted. Instead, you’ll select from a curated selection of Kodiak-grown plants of varieties that have a proven track record in Kodiak gardens and hanging baskets.
Additionally, our growing practices have virtually eliminated pest issues in our nursery stock. Our scale of production means we can be vigilant for any issues, nutritional or parasite, that may arise otherwise. We are committed to growing quality stock that will perform well in your garden and in your hanging baskets, and to do so without application of pesticides that are not approved for organic culture. We do this for our customers, for ourselves, and for our wild Kodiak environment.
Our selection changes daily. As plants achieve enough size to maximize their viability our of our hands, they join the ranks at the garden center and are available for sale. If you have a special request, we will do our best to accommodate; but keep in mind that since we are growing what we sell, we don’t order from Outside.
